The MONDAY CLUB

is a very successful venture for adults with AS which has been copied elsewhere in the country.

See their website www.themondayclub.co.uk for all the details.

From their website:-

The Monday Club is a social group based in Leicester for adults aged 18 - 65 who have Asperger Syndrome. The Club is based at the Central YMCA in East Street, Leicester. We meet on Monday Evenings from 7.00pm. - 9.00pm.

We aim to create a supportive environment for our members to meet, either in a mainstream setting or in the community, with trained staff and volunteers available to offer support where necessary.

We provide a variety of enjoyable activities for our members and offer the opportunity to meet others with Asperger Syndrome and to develop friendships and mutual support through structured activity evenings.

The club is funded by the City and County social service and works with them to identify and provide services to adults with Asperger Syndrome.

NEWS:-

The Monday Club has recently registered with Twitter so you can now also find out what will be happening at the Monday Club via Twitter.  Just set up or sign in to your Twitter account and then search for The_Monday_Club to find out about activities and events.

HOLIDAYS

http://www.happykidsholidays.com

happykidsholidays is a non profit making association (lio 1901) aimed

at supporting families with children and teenagers with Autistic Spectrum

Disorders who want to come on holiday in France. We are registered

with the French authorities, registration number W243002752.

I was a teacher in UK from 1994 until I moved to Dordogne, France in

2006. I worked in mainstream and special primary and secondary

schools, for the National Autistic Society, and for Sheffield LEA Autism

service. Many of the families I worked with never had a holiday, but they

all had a huge need for a break.

Once I became lucky enough to live in such a beautiful place, I decided

to try and enable people to have the holidays they deserved, so I talked

to some people who agreed with me and happykidsholidays was born.

[Note from Editor - They do cater for some adults with Aspergers too - see website for details.]
